Raf
Raf-1 protein kinase is an integral component of the Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK signaling pathway in mammals.
Raf-1 activation : RKIP :
Activation of Raf-1 is accomplished by Ras/GTP binding and by other events at the plasma membrane including phosphorylation of tyrosine residues at 340/341.
Proteins like Raf kinase inhibitory protein (RKIP) serve as modulators of signaling pathways, either by promoting or inhibiting the formation of productive signaling complexes through protein-protein interactions. RKIP is a highly conserved, ubiquitously expressed protein that can regulate multiple signaling pathways and plays a role in growth and differentiation. RKIP is also the first MAP kinase signaling modulator identified to play a role in cancer metastasis.[tr]
